Alina "Young One" Kagan #88
Although Alina is a second year veteran on Zeitgeist, her true calling has always been performing on stage. Alina's career in entertainment started early--when she was only one year old, baby Alina ousted baby Marisa (coincidentally also on zG) in the Bay Area Beautiful Baby Pageant's Swim Suit competition. Taking it as a sign, Alina's Russian mother nurtured her daughter's talents and signed her up for folk dancing lessons. For 14 years, Alina practiced folk dancing 8 hours a day after school, and her performances brought smiles to many and put food on her family's table. She also dabbled in drama and singing, but unfortunately Alina's teenage thumb sucking hindered her ability to turn pro in the Folk and Hungarian Dance League. Devastated, Alina immersed herself in table tennis, rising to the top and destroying any and all challengers. Not surprisingly, she received numerous athletic scholarships to many ivy league private universities but ultimately Alina decided to enroll at the University of California, Santa Cruz (after a brief stint at Humboldt) because her favorite animal is a banana slug.
In addition to becoming the campus' most esteemed Chinese food connoisseur, Alina quickly fell in love with Ultimate and became a leader/badass on Sol, raising her teammates as if she were their Russian Babushka. However, Alina felt a void in her life that could only be filled with song and dance, and so after graduating with a degree in Psychology, Alina has decided to pursue her dream of becoming a musical star on Broadway, so that one day she can meet Ellen Degeneris and be featured on her show. Alina's hard work has paid off already, as she earned the title of Zeitgeist's best (most persistent) lap-dancer in 2009. With her continued hard work and perseverance, it is clear that Alina is on the track to stardom.
